Yes. No previous experience is required. Before departure, our crew provides a full safety briefing and all necessary safety equipment.

The speed varies throughout the tour. There are calmer sections for sightseeing and storytelling, combined with exciting stretches where you can experience the power and agility of a modern RIB boat.

Dress according to the weather and wear comfortable outdoor clothing. Protective suits, life jackets and safety equipment are provided.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, but seabirds and other coastal wildlife are commonly seen along the route.

This tour focuses on Bergen’s island coast rather than the inland fjords. You’ll experience hidden waterways, coastal communities, local history and maritime culture while enjoying the speed and excitement of travelling by RIB boat.

The tour departs from Bergen city centre.

Meet up at Strandkaiterminalen where we will meet with our guide and change into the protective suits and walk to Munkebryggen, our departure point.

Protective suits, life jackets and safety equipment are provided.

Meeting point: Strandkaiterminalen where you will be greeted by our guide/Captain and we will gear up for the ride.

Open RIB boat with high-speed seating. Flotation thermo suits, life vests, googles, buff, gloves are provided. We recommend warm clothing, water proof shoes and a hat under the suit.

Note, any toilet and bigger storage availability is located at the departure point, since a RIB has none. Smaller backpacks and valuables can be stored on board.

Limited summer experience.

The tour runs from 27 July to 16 August 2026. Booking in advance is recommended.

This is an active, high-speed boat tour. Guests must be able to board and disembark independently and sit upright for the duration of the trip. Due to the nature of the RIB boat, the tour is not suitable for wheelchair users, pregnant women, people with back/neck problems or very young children.
